Odor Treatment For The Waste Collection Pit Of The Dong Hiep Pig Farm

LocationPham Van Coi, Cu Chi, Ho Chi Minh City
Implementation periodFrom November 24, 2022, to December 01, 2022

Current wastewater treatment process:

  • Flow rate of the wastewater treatment system: 250m3/day and night.
  • Waste from livestock activities, including wastewater and solid waste (mainly production waste), flows into the central collection pit A and will be pumped to collection pit B (attached photo), where the solid part is separated and packaged for use as fertilizer. The remaining water is then directed to tanks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 (tanks with lined bottoms).
  • Tanks 5 and 6 contain treated wastewater, which does not escape into the drainage channels but is used for cultivating catfish, irrigating plants, and evaporating.
  • Odors are detected emanating from pits A and B to the surrounding areas during the pump operation. At the same time, tanks 1, 2, and 3 also emit odors to the surroundings as the smell has not been thoroughly treated.
